About Chicken Bake

Chicken Bake is a 6 month old kitten who may look familiar from Dr. Caldwell’s Love Fund updates earlier this year.

She arrived at the shelter in January with a congenital condition called eyelid agenesis, which means her eyelids did not develop normally. It gives her a unique look, but her eyesight is perfectly fine and she doesn’t let it slow her down one bit.

Chicken Bake is curious, playful, and always interested in what’s happening around her. She approaches life with enthusiasm and seems to believe every day should include a little adventure.

She does have a few simple care needs. Chicken Bake requires a daily eye lubricant to keep her comfortable and will need a follow up appointment with our veterinary ophthalmologist in December 2026. If surgery is recommended at that time, Palm Springs Animal Shelter will cover the cost.

Chicken Bake has spent her first six months proving that being a little different isn’t a bad thing. In fact, it’s part of what makes her so memorable.
